The heartbeat

As a songwriter and producer for nearly twenty years and making music for other artists, I started to question the music industry and my own abilities as a songwriter.

I somehow lost myself in the process. After taking a break, it slowly started to grow on me again.

I wanted to make music from the heart so i started to build my own home studio to create the songs ringing in my head.

For me everything starts with a heartbeat from the drums. From the beginning as a songwriter it´s alwaYs been like that.

I needed to team up with a great drummer with the right attitude, skills and personality that love the same rock music that I do.

So i called my friend and brother Nicka to listen to the songs and ideas about a band together and since that day we are the blacklines.

I’m so grateful to have this partnership with a person I truly admire and respect as the wonderful person he is and a fantastic drummer.

We share the picture of making music, and drinking loads of coffee, with real people the classic way without any fuzz. Person on tape and not overpolishing with the help of computers and AI to get what we hear and want for a song.

I think music needs to be made by heart together with the one´s you love for one reason only. the music you want to hear and the stories you want to tell.

Come to life

Drums and music. They have been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. I’ve been busy playing the drums in all kinds of settings, in very different styles – and to this day I still enjoy it.

I have always appreciated being in a band, creating music together, shaping ideas into something new, recording songs, hear it all evolve. For quite some years I have spent a lot of time writing music and lyrics, accompanied by loads of black coffee and my guitar. But who would want to listen? Who would possibly care? Who would believe in me, other than being “just a drummer”?

My multi-talented buddy Micke of course. Not only is he a very skilled musician and artist – he’s also a stellar friend and a great human being.

It was a no-brainer for both of us when we started talking about kick off a common band project. We share the passion and fascination for pure rock music, great melodies, storytelling, communication, design and … coffee. And Micke is a hell of a songwriter.

Due to all kind of life circumstances, it has taken us a few years. But whenever we find the time to work together it’s always a blast.

I’m happy to create music together with my great buddy, flattered and thankful for the chance to be a part of this. The Blacklines is a dream come true.

Hopefully you will enjoy what we’re creating and join us down the path. Drums, guitar, rhythms, melodies, and riffs.

It all comes to life.
